The channels between the bird islands in Lake Uihlein are closing. The photos in this blog illustrate this.

This is unfortunate - the channels replenish the water plants and the longer shoreline provides more sheltered and better habitat for wildlife. The channels provide additional water aeration and circulation for a healthier lake. They also provide pathways for marine life and kayaks.

We request that the CDD that maintains the Lake restore the channels.
